Main Purpose of the Job
The Financial Accountant is required to play an active and key role within the Finance team by managing the revenue processes, expense processes, reporting and analysis. They are required to maintain control for functions in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Financial Accounting. They are responsible for the execution of the accounting and reporting function for the Company, as well as other Group and related entities.
Key Responsibilities:
General responsibility for the posting, recording and maintenance of all accounting records.
Enforcing corporate governance and internal control procedures and systems.
Cash book maintenance and cash planning. Timely and accurate risk reporting with regular follow up (working capital reporting and cash forecasting).
Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and inter-company accounts and timely closure of accounts monthly.
Preparation of all supporting daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedules and reconciliations.
Booking of accounting entries (revenue, expenses) in the accounting system.
Maintain accurate cost allocations. Ensure timely and accurate communication of transactions to support teams. Monthly review and analysis of actuals.
Maintain intergroup accounts (non-trading accounts)
Responsibility for assisting in the preparation of the annual budget and any re-forecasting exercises as required.
Fulfilling statutory and reporting requirements. Financial year-end processes, including liaising with auditors and support with preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
Handling tax administration matters (VAT, income tax etc.)
Responsible for the preparation of Management Accounting Packs and ad hoc financial reports as and when requested.
Close engagement with the Financial Manager. Continuous improvement and improved way of working implementations.
Uploading of daily rates into SAP.

Candidate Requirements
Relevant Accounting/Finance Degree (BCom or other).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Logistics Industry experience is advantageous.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (with exceptional knowledge of advanced Excel).
Results driven.

Ability to work autonomously.
