My client, a leading name in the tile and home improvement industry, has a vacancy for a Warehouse Manager. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards and regulations. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, extensive experience in warehouse management, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
· Monitor and oversee the receiving and dispatching processes to ensure timely and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing stock.
· Plan and oversee the process of picking and packing of stock, ensuring accuracy and sufficient space for storage.
· Facilitate the process of cycle counting of stock using Kerridge software to maintain accurate inventory records.
· Manage bi-annual stock counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
· Ensure all breakages are processed and disposed of according to established procedures.
· Manage day-to-day administration and management of warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
· Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including fire safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), stacking procedures, and general safety in the warehouse and yard.
· Perform daily opening and closing procedures for the warehouse.
Candidate Requirements
· Minimum Grade 12 National Certificate
· Minimum 3-year tertiary diploma or degree in: Logistics Management; Supply Chain Management; Operations Management; Business Administration with a focus on logistics or operations; Industrial Engineering or similar relevant qualification.
· 5-10 years of warehouse working experience in the FMCG/Wholesale industry, with at least 5 years at a management level.
· Working knowledge of inventory management ERP software, with Kerridge knowledge and experience being advantageous.
· Must be fluent in both English & Afrikaans in reading, writing and speaking.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate employees.
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
· Above-average proficiency in MS Office applications.
· Ability to work under pressure, and according to tight deadlines.
· Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
· Excellent timekeeping, work ethic, and attendance record.
· Willingness to work extended trading times, weekends, and public holidays.
· Own reliable car
