We as a firm of accountants and auditors are in the pursuit of excellence and providing exceptional services to our clients. The services to our clients include the compiling of financial statements (Audits, reviews, and compilations), tax returns, and various other services. The firm is looking for a committed and self-confident individual WHO IS STUDYING TOWARDS AN ACCREDITED ACCOUNTING DEGREE, with excellent people skills, and who can work with a team but is also capable of working independently.
The position is for the completion of either SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, or ACCA articles.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Capture transactions in accounting records
- Perform reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements
- Perform tax calculations and complete tax returns for individuals and companies
- Complete VAT returns
- Perform general accounting functions according to company methodologies
- Perform general and specialized auditing functions (from planning to conducting, and concluding engagements) according to company methodology
- Assist managers with various client matters, including administrative work
Candidate Requirements
- Studying towards an accredited BCom/BCompt Financial Accounting degree
- Matric certificate average of 60% overall
- Must be able to speak/write English at a high level (Afrikaans proficiency will be advantageous)
- Computer literate with a problem-solving mindset
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Driver's license and own reliable transport
- Ability to work in a team
- Uphold ethical values and attitudes
- Manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines and work productively in a challenging environment
- Experience with CaseWare, Draft Worx, Pastel, Xero, and Excel will be advantageous
