DUTIES:
IR Training:
- Train managers and supervisors to endorse an understanding of the disciplinary process
- Ensure members are fully aware of the company policies and procedures
ER Matters:
- Disciplinary hearings:
- Advise managers on formulation charges
- Provide managers with alternatives with regards to performance issues
- Grievances
- Advise managers on possible solutions
- CCMA Matters
- Scrutinize all dismissal documents and grievances
- Prepare for CCMA conciliations and arbitration matters
- Attend CCMA matters as per set down notice
- Complaints
- Investigate all complaints submitted to ombudsman
- Analyse the nature and identify trends of complaints
- Develop a reporting management tool
- Introduce measures to prevent complaints to be escalated to this forum
Employment Equity:
- Ensure fairness and consistency in all disciplinary matters and is in line with legislation
- Ensure all matters are addressed and resolved effectively
- Prevent frivolous matters being referred to CCMA
- Ensure that all matters are addressed within prescribed FADT standards
- Ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted and all relevant facts obtained
- Ensure all matters are addressed and resolved effectively and Head Office informed of the outcome timeously
- Conduct training with staff and Employment Equity Committee
- To ensure that management and staff are aware of the Employment Equity Act and the obligations on the company on numeric target
Staff Retention:
- Manage the process of Exit Interviews
- Manage the process of the completion of Job Descriptions effectively
- Ensure that 80 % of resignations are conducted.
- Ensure that all incumbents have a clear understanding of the job requirements
REPORTS – DISCIPLINARY STATS
- Complete the disciplinary report and stats to be submitted to Head Office
- Ensure that the report is submitted by 10th of each month
